There are so many benefits to exercise, where do I start? Exercise is moving your body. A person can start slowly and increase the amount of exercise with time. Some of the benefits include reducing and high blood pressure, reducing the risk of developing diabetes, and colon cancer or breast cancer. Enhanced work, play and sports performances are some more benefits. Maintain body weight or body fat. Reducing depression and are other benefits.

Aerobic exercise and strength training are two most popular forms of exercise. With aerobic exercise, the heart rate is increased and it actually works the heart muscle. With strength training there is increased lean body mass with added muscles. Also there are a whole slew of other benefits to add to the list.

Exercise does not need to be strenuous to be healthy. Moderate amounts can benefit men and women of all ages. It is important because it improves , extends longevity, and helps elderly folk maintain full functioning and independence.

It is never too late to start exercising regularly. The improvement in physical fitness will depend on your initial fitness level. Progress slowly in the exercise program. Have a medical checkup before you start a new exercise program. Choose activities that work a large like jogging, walking, cycling, swimming, or skiing.

You can include 30 minutes of exercise into your day easily by doing several things. You could walk the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Gardening is great exercise. Raking leaves and dancing are good too. So get started, it is easy, fun and inexpensive. Find a friend to take along; the time will go by quickly.
