1. Eat Well Balanced Meals - Meals that are packed with nutrition are what you should put in your body. Junk food will make you unhealthy, more hungry and in the long run, fatter. Make sure your meals consist of leafy green vegetables, fiber, heart healthy fats, little to no refined sugars, no trans fats and only good wholesome foods and beverages.

2. Don’t Starve Yourself - Trying to by starving yourself is about as smart as depriving yourself of oxygen to try to save air. When you starve yourself, you are doing more harm than good — your brain suffers, your heart is weakened, your skin look older and wrinkles set in, your
looks deteriorate and your common sense goes out of the window. Yes, you will lose, but the weight will still be there.

3. Eat Enough High Fiber Foods - Foods that are high in fiber are more satisfying and they keep you feeling full for longer periods so that you eat less as the day go by. High fiber foods are usually more healthy that those that are low in fiber and this keeps you healthier throughout your life.

4. Eat Only When You Are Hungry - If you are not hungry then you should not eat anything. Eating when you are not hungry is like training your body for a food marathon, the difference is that this marathon lasts your entire life. Don’t train yourself to eat just because. Eat at specified times and eat sensibly.

5. Get Up and Move Around - Stop lounging around looking at exercise programs. Get moving. You do not need to invest hundreds of dollars in exercise equipment to get started - a walk around the neighborhood is enough to get you directed toward the road to better health and a better looking body.

6. Start a New Hobby - The joys — of knitting a new scarf, wearing those earrings you made, presenting your loved ones with a handmade gift or assembling a doll house — are fantastic and the time spent creating these treasures will help to calm your appetite.

7. Do Not Skip Meals and Snacks - Skipping meals during the day will cause you to overeat late in the evening. Eating late in the evening will cause you to gain weight if you go to bed soon after eating. Skipping meals also causes extreme hunger which leads us to make unwise choices when we do eat.

8. Become Emotionally Fit - So many people eat when they are emotionally strained. The foods chosen are usually high fat sweet gooey foods or overly salty chips and crackers that are sure to cause weight gain and other health related problems. Loose the baggage.

9. Stop Eating After 20 Minutes - One way to keep your appetite and weight under control is to eat slowly and stop eating after approximately 20 minutes. 20 minutes is plenty of time for you to fuel your body with enough food to last for three or four hours.

10. Get a Good Night’s Sleep - Lack of will cause you to make unwise food choices and you will probably overeat during the entire day and into the late evening. Sufficient will give you a refreshed mind, body and spirit.
