What an All-in-One Anti-Aging Treatment Does For You

June 28th, 2009 by admin | Filed under Uncategorized.

As we grow older, the appearance lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, age-spots, under-eye dark circles & puffiness and “feather” lips start appearing on our faces. The best thing to do is to seek treatment for these aging signs. Before going under the knife or needle to erase these signs, I would consider the non-invasive option of creams first.

There are plenty of treatment creams, most of which claim to target a specific problem or another. There are creams that decrease your wrinkles, lighten your age-spots and so on. Personally, I would prefer a single treatment that has multiple benefits; otherwise I can’t promise myself that I will diligently apply cream after cream on my face. Furthermore, I need to fork out so much money to buy so many products - is this called the ‘price of beauty’?

Before buying any treatments, it would be useful to do some research – find out about the ingredients in the product; read product reviews or forums. It also helps to know what is the skin problem or aging sign you want to target, so that you can be specific about the function/ingredient to look out for in a product.

Instead of using so many products, why not turn to an all-in-one treatment? A product that can give you multiple benefits should include at least the following functions:

1. Moisturize

We all know the importance of moisturizing. Regardless of age and skin condition, a moisturizer is a must-have in the skin care regimen. Moisturizing the face helps to keep the balance of moisture, and also to keep the skin supple. With proper hydration of the skin, other nutrients also get absorbed more easily.

A moisturizer and an treatment need not be mutually exclusive. In fact, the treatment can also be gentle enough to provide hydration for the delicate eye area. That’s skipping two steps (the moisturizer and the eye-cream) every night.

2. Firms and Lifts

Collagen, the connective tissue in the lower layers of the skin is what gives our skin its strength and elasticity. As with most other treatments, the simulation of collagen production is an important effect. Look out for ingredients such as Vitamin C which aids collagen production; you get the benefit of soothing out the fine lines and wrinkles, as well as firming up the skin, improving the appearance of saggy skin.

3. Plumps up

Not just for the face, an all-in-one treatment can also be applied to the lips to smooth the fine lines around the lips, and it also makes the lips look fuller. Ingredients such as Deanol do just the job, so keep a lookout for it.

4. Lightens

One other important function of treatment is to lighten pigmentations and age-spots, on top of old and blemishes to achieve an even skin tone. Without blotchiness and dryness, the face immediately looks fresher and younger.

The overall aim is to achieve younger looking skin with a simple skin care regimen – washing the face with a mild cleanser and followed by the application of an all-in-one treatment. A fuss-free regimen can free up so much more time every day!
