Alternatives to Fat Camps and Weight Loss Clinics

So many people are looking for a fast way to drop weight and lose fat that they are even willing to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to do it. I don’t know about you, but I guess I’m just one of those rare people that don’t have that kind of money lying around the house. How about you?

But those that do have that kind of money lying around have come up with these crazy ideas that a fat camp or a weight loss clinic will be the solution to their problem and the answer to their prayers. They think that all they have to do is plop down several thousand dollars for entry into a weight loss clinic or a fat camp, then also pay several hundred dollars for airfare to get there, spend a week or two at one of the places, and that’s all they’ll ever need.

Wrong!

Don’t waste your money like that. Most of these facilities don’t have the properly trained staff that they pay for and they’re way over priced. Also, being gone for a week or two is not the answer to your problem. That period of time is hardly long enough to help you develop the right habits and techniques to actually losing weight and keeping it off.

Instead of losing all of that money and time, why not join a local weight loss group in your city or community? Most cities in the US have a Weight Watchers program, if not several, and the Weight Watchers program has had a long, tried and true, proven history of helping people and, more importantly, keep it off. I personally know of a lady that I used to work with that lost over 90 pounds in 12 months and to this day she has kept it off. She went from being overweight and homely to slim and sexy and is still looking absolutely great to this day because of that .

Another program that I have seen people with is the NutriSystem program. They love the food that the program provides and can even work together with friends or family to together. The people that I know that used this program were all church members and they would meet once a week to check weights and celebrate how much weight they had lost.

There are many inexpensive alternatives to overpriced weight loss clinics and fat camps and, to be honest with you, they’re much better as well. You want a program that changes your eating habits and helps you to keep the weight that you lose off, not some kind of fly-by-night quickie that leaves you frustrated because you keep adding the pounds back on.
