When you drink tap water, you might not be drinking pure water. When the water that you drink is filtered, you know you’re getting clean water. When you follow the general advice of drinking the 64 ounces of water a day, you are on the right track of sure. But if it’s not filtered water you could be putting your health at risk

Tap water is often not that pure. The presence of chlorine in excess amounts can lead to harmful effects in children and the elderly. When chlorine vapors are breathed in, and bronchitis can arise. Excess drying and aging of skin is observed as well as wrinkling. Tap water also has many contaminants of bacterial nature that are harmful for the body. There are other chemicals in tap water that can enter your bloodstream and cause harm. Most public water systems don’t do a good enough job of filtering our water, and it’s putting our health in jeopardy.

Filtration is the process that makes water free of chemical agents. Filtered water is also effective in detoxifying your body. Mineral or spring water has substances that cannot be broken down by the body. Filtered water ensures that only organic minerals are retained. This is because your body is in a position to assimilate organic minerals.

You should know that water is the bodies natural lubricant, coolant, transporter and solvent. It is only water that has the specialty of using the space between red blood cells in the best possible way. When the water you drink is filtered, your body benefits. Clotting, cardiac problems and other ailments can be less likely. Filtered water also helps in reducing water retention and thereby facilitates weight loss.

Since tap water has chemicals in it, it becomes necessary for the water that most of us drink, to be free from impurities. There are very loose standards when it comes to contaminants in drinking water. Contaminants fluctuate in the levels of their presence. Buying bottled water is not risk free either because most bottled water is just tap water with a fancy package. It is best to have filtration systems installed in your house.

It’s not just the water you drink that’s bad for you.

Filtered water mainly helps remove chlorine that enters the skin by absorption and by inhaling steam. If you use a good shower filter, you will be removing this chlorine. Further, your water could contain synthetic compounds which turn into vapor at relatively low temperatures. Toxins in the body get formed when such substances enter it. Hence drinking and bathing with filtered water is an easy way detoxify your body.
