Firm Help at Hand for Impotent Men

January 5th, 2012 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

A man’s erection is more than a sign of his arousal; it’s often a sign of masculinity and pride. Yet for many men it is something we take for granted. Being able to get an erection depends on a healthy operation of many complex operations such as healthy blood flow, good response to stimulus and a feeling of arousal. But what happens when one of these things go wrong?

How Does an Erection take Place?

For an erection to take place, the nerves to the penis must function properly, an adequate blood supply must circulate to the penis, and the penis must receive a stimulus from the brain. Erectile dysfunction, or ED, is the term used to describe a malfunction in one of these systems. Estimates of the number of American men who suffer from erectile dysfunction range from 15 million to 30 million, according to the National Institutes of Health.

What can go wrong?

With so many men suffering from ED the causes of the condition can be down to many different factors. Physical damage to the penis and nerve endings caused by diabetes, heart disease or prostate cancer to name a few are likely causes of impotency. ED is also a common side effect of many common prescription medications such as blood pressure drugs and anti depressants. Psychological problems also play a big part, stress, fear of failure and low self esteem are all big contributors and of course is perhaps one of the biggest culprits for impotency in men.

Help is at Hand

Thankfully Erectile Dysfunction or ED in men can usually be treated easily. Oral treatment has become a realistic option, with many men opting for ‘brand’ names such as Viagra. These drugs usually work by stimulating the flow of blood to the penis, giving a man the erection he craves without having to mess around with pumps. The effects of these drugs are usually short lived and can have unpleasant side effects, not to mention the need to have a prescription. This places a barrier to men looking for a long term and cost effective solution to impotency.

Herbal Alternative

Mother Nature has always held the cure for mans problems, including this one. Herbal remedies have recently entered the market and perhaps to everyone’s surprise have proven to be quite effective. Herbal pills designed to help men achieve stronger, longer lasting erections and feel sexier present a real alternative to prescription medication. A problem many men feel embarrassed to talk about can now be cured by a visit to an online retailer.

Now more and more men can have firmer, better-quality erections, feel sexier, more alive, more masculine and more sexually powerful. All without expensive surgery, messy pumps or embarrassing trips to the pharmacy!

Heartburn at Night, Do You Suffer From Nighttime Heartburn?

December 20th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Most people have experienced heartburn at some time in their lives. It is aptly named as that is how it is, a burning in the heart area. That burning that seems at times to be constantly there, from the base of your throat down to your stomach. You can get relief with over the counter products for a short time, there are many of these products on the market, so sufferers try until they get one that suits them. Nighttime heartburn has caused many a sleepless night and trying to in uncomfortable positions, just to get some relief.

Our lifestyles can contribute to our heartburn, stress, types of foods like processed and spicy, an increase in and diabetes could be contributing factors as well. No matter where or how you get heartburn most sufferers will experience nighttime heartburn.

There is a small valve, controlled by a little muscle, situated where the top of the stomach leads up to the esophagus. In some people, this little muscle weakens and causes the valve to stay open after food passes through, it should close then but the strength has diminished so the open valve allows the acid from the stomach to escape. The only it can go is up and as acid burns, this is why you get the burning sensation all the way up to your throat and often times further. This is a very painful and uncomfortable feeling.

One of the main reasons nighttime heartburn is more of a problem is the fact that the body is in a prone position, so the acid has a very easy path to travel and cause the discomfort. Many nighttime heartburn sufferers will have their bed raised at the head end or with extra pillows so they are not lying so flat. This can help.

What Doesn’t Help Nighttime Heartburn.

Over-indulging at dinner is a bad thing to do, if you are a sufferer of heartburn at night. Eating spicy foods, wine, anything that you know will trigger the heartburn for you, you should avoid. Smaller meals at night and not going to bed before you have given your meal time to settle, will help. If at all possible, eat smaller meals more often. Instead of the usual three meals in a day, to start with try, four and then five and the ideal is six. You will still be having the same amount of food, so you won’t go hungry. You will be asking your body to process the smaller amounts of food, not a big amount each time.

With the acid traveling up and down your esophagus, this can lead to other problems such as ulcers, which in themselves, is another problem altogether that you don’t want. You need your nighttime heartburn checked out and treated.

Treatment Plans

If you are a person who has this condition all the time then you should seek medical advice. Your doctor can arrange for tests for you to determine the problem and there are surgery procedures that can help. These days it is mainly done by the keyhole method surgery so is non-intrusive.

If you only suffer nighttime heartburn then there are some excellent medications on the market. If what you can purchase over the counter is not working for you, then go see your doctor and he can prescribe a medication that is stronger and may work better for you. if the first prescribed medication doesn’t work as well for you, then go back and let your doctor know and he can either adjust the dose to try another medication. If you try the and they work for you then great, do what works for you after all, it is your nighttime heartburn.

If heartburn is with you all the time, not just nighttime heartburn, then you definitely should seek help from your medical practitioner. Change of , adjusted meal sizes, no matter how much you love a food or beverage, if you are getting nighttime heartburn after partaking of it, then wean yourself off it, your esophagus will thank you. Take part in some exercise program, one that won’t aggravate your condition, something like yoga or water aerobics, not a lot of stress on the body but exercising the muscles inside and out.

Anyone who has suffered nighttime heartburn and through exercise, sensible eating and the right medication, be it from a doctor or naturopath, and gets their first good night’s without the burning problem, will wake up a different person. I hope that will happen to you.

6 Natural Products to Help With RSI

December 18th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

The Carpal tunnel is the passageway through the wrist that protects the nerves and tendons that extend into the hand. The meridian nerve that passes through it is close to nine tendons and if any of these become injured or if the tissues of the tunnel become swollen and inflamed, this nerve will get compressed. This causes numbness, tingling and often and incredible pain that shoots up and down the arm and is always worse at night.

This is the single most common occupational illness now reported and is always the result of repetitive movements causing repetitive strain injuries (RSI), such as typing on a computer keyboard.

Natural Methods for coping with RSI

Some sufferers have been shown to be deficient in vitamin B6 and in trials, a number of patients taking 100mg twice a day for 12 weeks, were able to reduce their intake of painkillers and avoid surgery.

RSI is caused by inflammation. Taking Natural anti-inflammatories will help bring the inflammation down.

Here are a few Natural anti-inflammatories you can use:

Did you know…

In the UK, the NHS bill for treating gastric bleeding caused by anti-inflammatory drugs is currently running at £367 million a year. This is a good reason to investigate what the natural world has to offer.

Boswellia

Also known as Indian frankincense, this can inhibit enzymes that would otherwise trigger the inflammation causing arthritic conditions and RSI. Take 400mg 3 times a day. There are no reported contraindications.

Bromelain

Known as the tissue healer, this increasingly popular anti-inflammatory agent is derived from the stems of fresh pineapples. If you are scheduled for surgery, do not leave home without this remedy. It has great post-operative and post-traumatic anti-swelling properties. Take 500mg 3 times a day. Do not combine with zinc as this can inhibit the activity of Bromelain and avoid potatoes and soy products which can do the same thing. Avoid altogether if you know you are allergic to bee venom.

Ginger

This herb has lots of different actions in the body, and one of it’s properties is it’s potent anti-inflammatory properties. Take 250mg 3 times a day. There are no reported contraindications.

Glucosamine

This is produced naturally in the body. There is it used to make cartilage. This is great because it doesn’t simply treat the symptoms, but it can actually slow the progress of joint diseases caused by wear and tear. It is especially good for treating osteoarthritis. Glucosamine supplements are made from chitin, a substance found in the shells of shrimps, lobsters and crabs. You will often find combination formulations that include chondroitin, another naturally occurring substance which can protect the joint from wear and tear. Take 500mg 3 times a day.

Methylsulphonylmethane (MSM)

This is a form of organic sulphur which is present in all living organisms and plays a key role in tissue healing. It is often prescribed by surgeons. You can get MSM from lots of foods including fresh cow’s milk and fresh vegetables as well as meats and seafoods. It is easily destroyed by cooking and food processing techniques, making it impossible to get a therapeutic dose from your . Instead, it is advisable to take a supplement of 1g a day with food to promote internal healing and alleviate inflammation. Arthritis sufferers who take this supplement report the welcome side effect of thicker, glossier hair and stronger nails.

Turmeric

A member of the ginger family, turmeric has many medicinal actions including anti-inflammatory properties that can help alleviate the pain of RSI and arthritis. Take 400-600mg a day. In some arthritic patients, turmeric in the can exacerbate arthritic-type conditions. Unfortunately, there are no predictors for who may be adversely affected in this way. You will have to monitor your reactions and stop using this remedy if your symptoms worsen.
