Quit Smoking With Exercise

October 12th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Smoking is an addictive habit and a very hard one to quit. Exercise can be a big help to you when you make the decision to finally quit. Keep in mind that the word exercise means many different things and you don’t have to race around a track or pump iron to keep your mind off cigarettes. If you don’t have time to hit the gym everyday there are other alternatives. You can simply go for a walk, or a swim at the local pool, or do an exercise tape at home. Anything that gets you moving will help you succeed in quitting .

To get started it is a good idea to write down your exercise goals on an empty calendar. Each day when you look at the calendar you will see what exercise is planned for the day and you can mark it somehow when you actually meet your daily goal. As the month goes by and you see more and more of these exercise marks you can congratulate yourself on a job well done. Whenever you do succeed in exercising it will increase your determination to stay away from cigarettes.

Some people get off to a great start with new running shoes or track outfits. Then as the days go by they find it difficult to stick to the exercise promise they made to themselves. That is why the exercise calendar can be such a great tool to keep you away from . It keeps you accountable to yourself and that most important when making any lifestyle change. Your daily exercise will benefit you in many ways-some that you might not have considered.

One of the reasons so many people do not quit is the fear of weight gain. By exercising on a regular basis you will be going a long way toward solving that problem. Naturally, you have to have some control over what you eat as well but exercising gives you a lot more freedom to eat. When you are walking in the fresh air or swimming in the pool, will not be at the top of your mind. Exercise may not take away every craving but it will help you get to that point when the cravings begin to fade.

It is monumentally important to choose the right time of day to exercise and the right exercise program. Most people do better if they exercise in the morning but some, mostly out of necessity, have to exercise after work. Pick the time that works the best for you, your family and your job. It will be easier for you to continue exercising if it doesn’t interfere too much with the rest of your life. It is often true that exercise begets exercise, i.e., that you will want to move more often once you get used to the idea. Maybe an evening walk with your mate will give you a second “workout” for the day. Any exercise you do will boost your confidence that you have given up for good.

As far as the program you choose, start with the minimum that you know you can follow through on. Don’t jump into exercise like it’s the most important thing in your life. Choose something that you won’t mind doing every day of the week and then add to it a little at a time. Someday soon you will realize that you have turned your exercise program into a true” habit” to replace the unhealthy “habit” of . Now that is something to look forward to, isn’t it? You will have more energy, vitality, better health, and a longer and fuller life to live.

Does Hypnosis Work

August 20th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Working as a Hypnotherapist is very rewarding as you get the privilege of working with people that want to achieve amazing success in their lives. In fact there is never really a day that I get out of bed and think ‘oh no – another boring day at work’ as each and every day brings many more new clients and many more new challenges that always keeps me on my toes! Many people also find my job fascinating and I am never short of anything to say when I am with friends or meeting new people as that age old question always rises about what I do! Actually someone asked it me just last night – ‘That hypnosis thing? Does it really work?’ I always laugh at this point and say ‘of course not, don’t be so ridiculous!’

Of course I am having a little joke with them in my reply. It still amazes me that people still don’t actually believe that Hypnosis can work. Are you a sceptic? Are you one of these people that still believes that it sounds ‘too good to be true’? Well if you are then it might be time that you woke up and smelt the coffee as you just might be missing out on something that you really need to give you the results that you want in your life. Listen to this – Hypnosis has been scientifically proven to both exist and work! Don’t believe me? Google it and you will find loads of research and evidence to suggest that Hypnosis doesn’t belong in the land of fairytales and magic shows, but is actually a viable option to get you the life that you want and to help you to attain the things that you want to have.

One question I always ask my clients is ‘what would you achieve if nothing was impossible?’ The reason that I ask this is because as we grow into adulthood we stop using our ability to set high ambitions like we did as kids and we start to create limitations and reasons why we cant achieve certain things. We actually begin to decide whether something is impossible or not – that’s right we actually set the limit on what is impossible!

As I said – Hypnosis is a viable option to achieve your goals. So I want to ask you the question - what would you achieve if nothing was impossible? Would you quit , , get more confidence, make more money, improve your relationship or deal with that stress? These are all things that people regularly use Hypnosis for – actually, I worked with clients on all of these issues just in the past week.

The bottom line: Hypnosis works! Isn’t it time that you started to find out more information about how you can use it to improve your own life? You owe it to yourself!

Smoking: The Mentality?

August 1st, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

What is it that makes people smoke? I mean, yes, many years ago there were many pressures on families. A lot of stresses and a lot of unresolved issues. Particularly so after the war had ended. Life was tough then. But it is not so tough now.

Also, then, there was very little help from the governments in terms of health advice and health awareness. Even doctors and nurses smoked and promotional adverts were everywhere. It was a cool and expected thing to do. Even I might have been tempted. My parents certainly were.

But now things are different. There are blocks on advertizing, warnings on cigarette packets and numerous research outcomes showing that leads to death. Education is everywhere but the blind might not see or hear it.

So people continue to smoke. Even people that we would consider eminently sensible in every other way. Even the effects of passive is ignored. The innocent suffer in discomfort and ill health because of the actions of others.

Something must compel smokers to smoke even in the face of the risks to their own health and the risks they are causing to other, innocent, people. Something must drive them. Push them.

Is it addiction? I think not - well not that alone. I have met many smokers who have not been long enough to be addicted. Therefore is it insolence in the face of authority? Perhaps.

Perhaps also it is the pressure of conformity - the same pressure that makes people drink, carry knives and guns and take drugs.
