Terror Victims’ Depression
August 13th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in UncategorizedDepression is always unbearable, but the depression that plagues the victims of terror is undoubtedly the worst kind, since their sadness cannot ever disappear, and the damage caused in their psychic sphere is so great that their psychic health is irrecoverable.
When we talk about terror we mean murder, rape, betrayal, violent attack, and many other horrible events that annihilate their victims with cruelty. They are very common in many communities of this world, and their danger threatens everyone else the same way because this is an open world.
In these cases, long-term psychotherapy is required and usually it is unable to completely solve the victims’ problems, since their fear never completely disappears. They become invalid, as if they have lost a part of their organism. However, the internal damage is even worse and the solution is difficult to find.
How can we cure all the victims of cruel and violent attacks? How can we cure someone who was betrayed by those he or she trusted the most? What about the soldiers who had to fight and kill innocent people for the crazy ideals of their leaders, which were more important than human lives? There are many examples of terror victims in this world.
Their depression is greater than the obvious consequence of the despair they experience in their lives and where they are imprisoned forever. Those that never experienced such profound despair cannot understand what it means to die in this manner and yet to be obliged to continue living after such a death. This depression has no possible psychotherapy: it is a chronic depression because it is the normal consequence of a brutal action, just like the automatic responses of our inherited mechanisms.
However, these brutal actions take place everywhere in our planet… Terror statistics are a daily fact, especially atrocities committed against children, who are still weak, vulnerable and unaware and thus cannot defend themselves.
How can we put an end to terror? This is the only possible solution for a problem that has no solution. We have to impede its existence because we cannot cure its victims. Only if we’ll eliminate terror we’ll be able to have psychic health in our world. We cannot cure dead people, just as we cannot cure the victims of terror. They will suffer forever and always be afraid of everything and everyone.
The only possible psychotherapy for them is dream interpretation for life. Only the messages received from the unconscious side of the psychic sphere that produces dreams can provide relief and courage to these victims, even though they will also have to be responsible for their own suffering. This is exactly how the unconscious cures the injured soul: by showing it the truth.
The truth is ugly and we never want to see it… In some cases it is extremely dangerous, especially when treating schizophrenic and psychotic patients. They are the worst victims of the terror provoked by their wild side but are also responsible for abandoning their moral principles, which led them to craziness. This is the truth they cannot bear…
Those that spread terror experience the opposite of what their victims experience. Instead of depression, they only feel emptiness and anger. They are completely indifferent to other people’s pain but extremely sensitive to their own suffering.
They are the cold murderers and the inconsequent lovers, the greedy opportunists and the immoral thieves. On observing them, their victims have the impression that they are always fine since they are completely unfeeling and nothing seems to frighten them.
However, terror victims certainly would not feel unjustly treated if they could only understand that the monster who is victimizing them is not immune to suffering but in fact his suffering is as great as the suffering caused to his victims, but the pain is obscure and increases gradually, while the victims’ pain is apparent and happens immediately while the aggressor is attacking them.
Instead of hating these monsters, they shall have pity on them because they are completely insane and will suffer far more from the consequences of their mistakes, the nightmares with scenes of their crimes and the horrible sensations they will begin to feel after committing their first crimes. The murderer’s despair is worse than that of the victim, since the murderer has the constant need to kill, what provokes him constant anxiety and nervousness. He is trapped inside a labyrinth and he will never be able to leave.
Depending on the gravity of each case, the victims will reach a point where a suicide appears to be the only solution left to put an end to their despair. The same is the case even with the inconsequent lovers, greedy opportunists and the immoral thieves, who do not understand that their actions spread terror everywhere in the same way as the murderer. He can easily understand this, because his violent actions provoke the spill of blood.
Through dream interpretation, the victims of terror can be almost completely cured if they work hard for life instead of being chronically depressed. However, those that provoke terror and are responsible for many destructions in the environment can only be partially cured and only after an extremely long and painful psychotherapy, which will not be able to help them recuperate their lost human conscience, but only to understand the meaning of their actions.
In fact, we can completely cure neither the terrorists nor their victims. We have to put an end to terror, so that it does not continue destroying our psychic sphere, but to do so, we have to stop being absurd and irresponsible. Humanity needs to be taken seriously!
We cannot be indifferent to the way our world functions, to the victims that have no hope to overcome their despair, as well as to the crazy murderers, who kill by deliberately spilling blood or with their irresponsible actions.
The wise unconscious can show us how to correct our behaviour and how we can transform our world, but this is just like saying that God can show us how we can be perfect and live peacefully… Who accepts to obey His orders? Who accepts suffering in order to save humanity? Who is willing to carry the burden abandoned by others? Who is willing to wait for the right time and who forgives his worse enemies? Who accepts to forget his own desires and plans but to care first of all about everyone’s happiness in this world where more than too many people only suffer without end? Only a hero…
We need many heroes in this world!
This is the only way we can eliminate terror and save humanity.
During my studies, I came across Carl Jung’s method of deciphering dreams, which helped me and urged me to continue his research into the unknown regions of our psychical sphere. I set my poetry aside and began to compile my findings. I sought to prove that Jung had discovered the proper method of interpretation of dreams. This exercise actually taught me many things, and I continued to pursue Jung’s research into the analysis of dreams.
