A Simple Diet For A Weight Loss Problem Which Will Not Increase Your Stress Levels

October 2nd, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

I have always had problems with my weight, which I must admit has been mainly of my own doing. I have looked into many forms of and weight loss programs, most of which I felt were not suitable for me, as they seemed too brutal. This article describes about a which I used for myself, it is a very simple which will not increase your level of stress.

The problem that I had growing up, was that I seemed to like all of the wrong types of food and drinks. I especially liked all types of fast food, plus various snacks like chocolate, peanuts and crisps. I also was rather partial to drinking alcohol, this was something which would give me a boost of confidence. The result is that I have had an ongoing problem with my weight for as long as I can remember.

I realised that this had to change and aged twenty-one, I decided to do something about my weight problem. As you may read, I eventually managed to reach a weight I was happy with, however even now aged thirty-two, I have to be very careful what I eat as I seem to gain weight very easily. During those first twenty-one years of my life, I had tried many diets, however I was always looking for a way of losing weight without having to resort to starving myself or by having to do huge amounts of exercise. I am sure you are thinking, haven’t we all.

I had other issues and problems in my life, I suffered with a stutter from the age of four, I had a bald patch on my head from birth and I was also quite short for a male at only five foot four. These combined with my worries over my weight affected my self confidence. To make myself happy, I would binge and comfort eat, which would only add to the problem. I would feel guilty for hours, after eating for only twenty minutes.

By the age of twenty-one, I had had enough. I decided it was now time to attempt to lose some weight. I then went about formulating my own form of . I realised I had to cut out these wrong type of foods I was eating and to also drink far less alcohol. To say this was difficult was an understatement, however I knew that I had to be strong and to fight off my urges and cravings.

I decided that life would not be worth living if I stopped eating all of these types of food and drinking the alcohol and this was the plan I had:

Breakfast

For breakfast I would eat properly for example, a bowl of cereal or a couple of slices of toast.

Lunch

For lunch I would also be good and eat something like a healthy salad bowl or some pasta.

In between meal snacks

I had to stop eating in between meals as this I believed was the main factor why I was overweight.

Evening meal

This was the meal where I allowed myself some pleasure as I decided that I could basically eat what I wanted to, including pizza, my favourite.

For exercise I decided to leave the car at home, wherever possible, and walk to more places. I also started taking my children to the park more often. At the park we would play games such as football, cricket and baseball. It is amazing how much weight you can lose by having fun.

These things in time helped me to lose a lot of my excess weight.

Stuttering Treatment

December 13th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

There are many types of treatment for people who have a or stutter, this article describes some of them. Stuttering has gained a lot of coverage in the news over the last number of years with people like pop singer Gareth Gates highlighting the problems people who stutter have.

Speech therapy is the normal course of therapy people who stutter try. In my opinion this is useful however has limited power as the therapists themselves do not believe a stutter can be overcome. They are therefore merely helping people cope and from my own personal experience the main advice given, is to slow down when talking and to take a deep breath before speaking.

Hypnotherapy is another form of stuttering therapy. Success is no doubt largely dependant on the quality of the hypnotherapist involved. In my opinion stuttering is not only an emotional problem but also a physical problem and that hypnotherapy only deals with the emotional side.

Group speech courses is the next form of stuttering treatment. There are many of these type of courses which will either teach costal breathing, or slowed or prolonged speech. I think this form of stuttering help is better than the first two however I believe that every person is an individual and needs individual treatment with courses tailored to their individual needs.

One to one speech courses are for me the best form of treatment. There is nowhere to hide and the speech coach can really get to grips with the type of problem the person who has the stutter has. The speech coach can fully concentrate on that person for the duration of the course and a type of bond can form. This is the form of stuttering treatment which I believe is likely to prove the most beneficial and successful.

Treatments For Speech Impediments

December 6th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Do you have a speech impediment? Are you looking at ways in which you can overcome your speech impediment? Do you hate your speech impediment? Does your speech impediment dictate your life? Up until around ten years ago I would have answered yes to all of these questions but have now managed to achieve fluency and life has never been so good.

My own speech impediment started when I was just four years of age, well this is what my parents have told me. I had for whatever reason developed what I call a or what most people call a stutter. Looking back this must have been a huge cause of concern for my parents and it would have been difficult for them to know where to look for help. Now that I am a parent myself I can understand what it must have been like for them.

My parents decided to take me to speech therapy in a quest to cure the speech impediment. I, as such a young boy did not want to go as it was not somewhere that any of my friends had to go. I have to admit that I do not remember much about these early speech therapy lessons.

In my teenage years I continued to search for some sort of stammering cure and was desperate to find some solutions to the speech impediment. I was starting to get frustrated with life and especially speech therapy. I had been going for years and had not improved one bit. I also had quite a bad attitude to the whole process, you have never had a so how do you know how it is affecting me, this is what I used to think about these speech therapists who were attempting and failing to help me.

There are many different types of therapy for a stutter including one-to-one speech courses, group courses, hypnosis, self help dvds and self help ebooks.

I managed to overcome my own ten years ago after basically studying how what I call the best talkers spoke and then copying them. My confidence has improved in a big way and life is now a lot easier.

Tips On How To Cure A Stutter

May 3rd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

There are many people in the world who suffer with a stutter, which is a form of speech impediment. I myself had a stutter for eighteen years, however at the age of twenty-two, I managed to achieve fluency. This article looks into how to cure a stutter and what my life is like, now I have overcome the stutter.

People who stutter at times seek a way to overcome their speech problem, as having a stutter can at times make life a struggle. There are many types of therapy for stuttering, including stutter cure courses or traditional speech therapists.

Since overcoming my own stutter, I am now able to order food and drink for example, without fear of stuttering or stammering as some people call it. I am able to talk on the telephone and am able to enjoy socialising without the fear of stuttering. I have become a more positive and happy person, life is no longer the battle it once used to be. I appreciate my speech compared with the average fluent person, who do not realise how lucky they are. I have even been accused of talking too much, but this is something I will never apologise for - when I had a stutter I hardly spoke at all.

Six years ago I met my present girlfriend, Sharron, who has an eleven-year-old daughter, called Taryn. Together we have a son who is five years old, called Ethan.

What attracted me to Sharron was her positive outlook on life and I am sure we will have a happy and successful future together.

I now feel free, like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. My self confidence and self esteem levels have increased no end.

When I had the stutter, I always seemed to accept second best. It affected every decision I made, I left school because of the stutter, dated girls which to be truthful, not only did I not feel attracted to, but did not particularly find interesting. My stuttering mind convinced me that I could do no better. I was unhappy where I worked, but just accepted it; I did not feel able to put myself through the interview process again.

I now only accept the best and my life has improved tremendously.

In general, what fluency has given me is:

1. Confidence
2. Happiness
3. Contentment
4. Optimism
5. Success
6. Relaxation
7. A positive outlook on life
8. Freedom of speech
